My name is Xinyi Hu, I usually go by the name Laura. I am an aspiring applied mathematician interested in developing deterministic and stochastic math models for topics in mathematical biology, specifically the dynamics of bone cell remodeling cycles, epidemiology, and resource sustainability in our ecosystem. In addition to modeling, I am also interested in statistical learning theories and data analysis.

I am currently a math tutor/teaching assistant at Cal Poly Pomona’s Learning Resource Center. I tutor all lower-division and most upper-level applied math and statistics courses and run two different kinds of workshops every week. I am passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals in mathematics inside and outside the classroom. When I am not doing math, you can find me freelancing as a graphic designer or painting a pet portrait.

More details about my past projects and workshops are on its dedicated web page. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch with me via the section below!
